Kate Carter, RVT
Kate has wanted to work with animals since she was five years old when she told her family about her ambitions at a dog show that her uncle was a part of. During school she narrowed her focus, realizing she wanted to work in an emergency veterinary hospital.
She graduated from Seneca College as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2012 and is excited to now be working at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital! She likes that no two days are the same here, and no matter what she’s working with a team who truly cares about animals. Kate constantly pushes herself to be the best vet tech she can be and give the best care to patients.
Her three cats and chinchilla are a source of joy. Her cats are Keira, an 11-year-old cat who picked Kate when she visited the litter of kittens (and not the other way around!); Samhain, a 3-year-old sensitive boy who loves to cuddle; and, Pipa Squeak, a 1-year-old bottle-fed rescue who thinks Kate is just a big cat. Gambit the chinchilla loves the cats – and seems to think love is shown by pulling on tails!
When not at the hospital, Kate enjoys reading, going for hikes, watching movies, and spending time with friends, family, and fur balls. She also hopes to make a trip back to Ireland someday!
