Tyler Melnike

Patient Care Specialist

Tyler spent three years apprenticing and training as a certified dog trainer and breeder. He has the skills to read dogs’ body language and the calm, patient demeanour to care for pets of all kinds.

He joined the Clarkson Village Animal Hospital team because his parents always took his childhood pets to us and he grew up impressed by our respectful caring for them. He is eager to gain knowledge on the medical side of the animal industry and has always loved cats, dogs, and all other animals. He loves the great work environment here, including his caring coworkers, our attitude of constant learning and growth, and the fact that he gets to be around animals all day!

Tyler’s dream is to one day open his own dog boarding, training, daycare, grooming, and breeding facility out in BC. He currently has two Siberian Huskies – a male named Mukka and a female named Nymeria. Mukka is a registered service dog, search and rescue dog, trained for movies, and a stud dog who has fathered litters. Nymeria has obedience and movie training and is also a therapy dog. She has mothered litters of puppies.

Tyler’s hobbies include dog training, breeding, and grooming, as well as sports, motorcycles, and music.
