Dr. Istvan Hertel
Growing up in a family surrounded by livestock, Dr. Hertel knew from a young age that he would care for and help animals of all types and sizes. Dr. Hertel received his diploma in Budapest, Hungary, in 1980, and worked as a rural vet for 11 years before moving to Toronto with his family. In 1994 Dr. Hertel obtained his license to practice veterinary medicine in Canada.
For over 23 years, Dr. Hertel shared his knowledge and experience with many general practice veterinary clinics and emergency veterinary clinics.
Though Dr. Hertel never thought that he would practice at only one veterinary clinic when the opportunity arose to join Clarkson Village Animal Hospital, he just could not say no to working with this great team! Dr. Hertel initially worked primarily as the overnight emergency veterinarian, and most recently joined the day practice team.
When Dr. Hertel is not found in the clinic, he is likely spending every free minute with his family and very loved grandchildren both 2 and 4-legged, cooking, and travelling.
